Which road are you traveling down?

Jesus said in John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

There is ONE WAY to salvation.  ONE WAY to forgiveness.  ONE WAY to freedom.  ONE WAY to peace.  ONE WAY to hope. ONE WAY to love. ONE WAY to TRUTH.  ONE WAY to life.  Jesus said I AM .

I AM the way

I AM the truth

I AM the life

And no man come unto the Father, but by me.

There are two roads, two ways, two gates. “Enter ye in at the straight gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that lead to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:  Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which lead unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13

Which road are you on?

Are you traveling down the broad road that leads to destruction?  Then you have a lot of company.  And by sight, it probably looks pretty attractive.

Or are you traveling down the narrow road that leads to life?  If so, it can be very lonely at times and by sight it may not look that attractive.

Have you heard it said that “ideas can be dangerous”?   Just take a look at history and you can see how very dangerous “ideas” can be.

The wide road is filled with all kinds of ideas and teaching and doctrine.  Proverbs 14:12 says:  “There is a way which seem right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

The narrow road has ONE teaching, ONE doctrine.  Luke 4:32 says “And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.”   The doctrine of Christ.

• Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.  PERIOD.

• You cannot believe on Jesus apart from knowing his word, his teaching, his doctrine.

• You cannot know him apart from his Word.  As Jesus said in John 17:3 “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

• You cannot be sanctified by him apart from his Word. “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”  John 17:17

The narrow road is just that — narrow.  And there is only ONE WAY to travel on that narrow road — IF you continue in my Word, (Jesus said) then you are my disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth and the truth will make you FREE.

• The WIDE road leads to destruction.

• The NARROW road leas to life.
